Bela joined Platinum Discovery in January 2022 and currently is the Head of Scientific Operations.She leads experimental design and delivery,playing a crucial role in managing and overseeing the organisation’s scientific research activities. Her position combines scientific expertise, managerial skills, and strategic vision.
Bela holds a PhD in marine natural products drug discovery, an MPharm in Pharmacy, and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. She worked at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), Glasgow, as Research Assistant before pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Dr. RuAngelie Edraba-Ebel, head of the Natural Products Metabolomics Group. Following her PhD, Bela contributed to Mass Spectrometry-based cancer immunopeptidomics at EnaraBio Ltd., Oxford, generating proteomic/immunopeptidomic datasets from primary cancer tissue samples and managing mass spec platforms.
